I chase the story and the story chases me.
A vicious cycle.
I wanted to spend the day writing but that didn’t happen. I instead spent the day watching television.
Mainly OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network). I make no apologies for being a fan of Super Soul Sundays.
During the course of today’s Oprahfest I heard three stories that were so absolutely ME that I almost passed out. Thanks Oprah for the Aha moment trifecta.
Now back to the torturous creative process.
Thanks for the distraction, O.
For the life of me, I don’t understand why I continue to attempt to write during the day. In truth, everything I have written worth saving was conceived when the sun went down. Thoughts and concepts come together for me at night in a way that they never do during the day.
Writers are always searching for authenticity and truth.
I like the progress I am making with my current project but I’ve hit a snag. I’m not certain about the introduction of a new character and how much importance they will have in the story. The story keeps trying to change and go in a direction I am not prepared to go.
I’ve decided to give in and go along for the ride.
I’ll just keep writing.
Keep writing.
Keep writing.
Keep writing.
