Past Imperfect

To live through the highs and lows of this era requires an emotional dexterity that we have had little time to develop. When we get all that we want, it’s not what we need and when we get all that we need, it’s not enough. Longing for what once was is a common pastime and so we pine for a simpler time, when things were what we expected them to be. We want to go back to a time that may never have actually existed. There has always been something or someone to fear. In the climb toward greatness, we’ve discarded everything we’ll need for survival. Now that the unheard have made their voices heard maybe there will be a chance to address the imbalance in our society, from the top down. And maybe love really will trump hate.
